Southfields Harvest
Southfields Harvest is a free neighbourhood not for profit festival which is now in its third year.
Celebrating local food and drink, community and creativity, it is held at St Barnabas church and halls on Lavenham Road on 1 October 12.00-3.00pm
New for this year the organizers have arranged The Big Draw! where local artist Jane Porter is leading the creation of The Great Big Southfields Combine Harvester on the day using salvaged materials.
In addition we are creating a Shops Trail where about a dozen local shops will be displaying an item of knitted or papier mache fruit or veg in their windows or by their tills for people to spot and enter for a prize draw.
As well as baking competitions, vegetable monster-making for children, local produce will be on sale and Rocky Head beer with which help wash down The Village Butcher’s barbecued Southfields sausages.
Something for everyone, we hope all to the tune of two local bands The Combine Harvesters and The Beetroots
